Split Bandeau Top - view 2 by SerenFey Split Bandeau Top - view 2 by SerenFey
(modeled version--this won't happen to often. ;) I'm too shy.)

I'm real proud of this design, as I've yet to see anyone else using it.

This piece is half EPDM rubber, half metal, and the weave is nice and dense to the point where it is perfectly street legal--you can't see anything through it. :) Also, another fun fact, these materials are water friendly--so yes, you could totally use it as a bikini top at the beach. Or you could use it for awesome club wear, or just good old fun. ;)

This one was made to fit roughly sizes 32-38 B. I think it could also manage up or down a bit since there's decent stretch to it. I'd have to test it on an A and a C before I could say for sure.

This style would start at $150, and go up depending on your specifications and tweaks.

I will eventually be designing a bottom for these as well. I can't promise the bottom will be street legal, though. ^^; Dunno if anyone would want metal there.

It does look great. I was wondering what the band weave was. Is there any way to get a better look at the sides?  Thanks.

The silver band was just simple 1-1 links of different sizes.  And yes, there is probably a way to make the sides look better--this particular work is almost three years old now, and something I made as a challenge when I was a beginner.  It was a design made at a convention to see how quickly it could be completed, and so yes, the edges came out a tad messy.  I have a couple ideas of how to clean up the design, but haven't had time to put them into practice yet.

>_< I'm in love with this and would love one... But it would be long before I could afford something like it, aaaand I'm a size 32 DD. But this is very cool and incredibly unique. Kudos to you!

Wow!! This is a great variation from all the typical bra/bikini style tops I often see. For that, I salute you. The necklace strap is a great touch, its a lot more sexier than shoulder straps would be here, I think. And awesome job on the colors!! That's original. :D (Yes I know I'm digging, I'm always looking for unusual stuff o.o) Mad props, keep up the good work!

Thanks! ^_^ I had a lot of fun with this piece (though if I remake any, it won't be with the small sized rings. XD).

how is chaff age? I understand that is a bit of a problem with the general idea, that and pinching. My cousin has occasionally talked to me about doing one, but I figured I would have to line it, essentially working over a pre-existing top.

With this piece it's non-existent for me. I've worn this for extended periods, and never once had pinching or chafing. The rubber helps with that problem a lot. And this piece is not lined.

Now mind you, I wouldn't go for a run, or do any rigorous work while wearing it, as that's just ASKING for trouble. But under normal wear, it does not chafe.

That looks SWEET!, I can barely think of how long it took to make that....and how cold it must be XD

Nah, it's not that cold--lightweight metal heats up quickly from body heat. =D No worse than a normal bikini after the first 30 seconds.

But yes, it did take me about 8-10 hours to make. XD

Try making a skirt as appossed to a bikini bottom. I hear they're more comfortable. Maybe a half skirt?

...that can be taken so wrongly. XD

I'm hoping it will sell! It would pay for my hotel room for the con and more. X_X

No, the exposure part, given that the point to this top is cleavage. -.-
